California runs large eligibility programs that are not Grants.gov competitions. Households usually start with BenefitsCal (or a county office) for CalFresh (SNAP) and CalWORKs (TANF). Create an account only on the real BenefitsCal / county portal. Counties still do in-person intake. Keep proof of California residency, income, and who lives in the home. Immigration rules differ by program; use the official screener, not a rumor on social media.
